Haida Rose

I have drawn a Rose as I was influenced from the Haida peoples for the art style. A rose has many meanings such as admiration, sympathy, gentleness, grace and many others. For the First Nations peoples, a rose meant wisdom, balance and devotion.

The colour red represents blood, war or valor. Sometimes, it appears in nature which is why I made my rose red, because it is a flower and does not represent war.

The colour white represents sky or spacious heavens. It is also used as a background.

The colour blue stands for serenity and happiness. It also symbolizes water or the sky.

The colour black projects the symbol of power.

Some techniques I used is to not draw any shape in particular, but just random shapes until the final form started to appear.

This took 3 hours to make.
